What billing or insurance information will I receive?
As a curtesy, we call on each individual patient's insurance to gather a detailed benefit summary. At your appointment, we go over the information in detail with you. 4-6 weeks after your appointment, your health insurance will mail you an explanation of benefits (EOB). You'll also be receiving a bill from our office with any charges insurance doesn't pay for.
How long will it take to get things settled with the insurance company?
Depending on the insurance company, you should have an EOB within 4-6 weeks. Sometimes it may be shorter or take longer depending on specific situations.
Why am I getting bills from physicians?
You will receive a bill from our office once insurance pays for their portion of the service provided by our office. Any leftover balance will be billed to you at the beginning of the following month.
I received a notice that my insurance company has paid on my bill - but I can't understand how they calculated their payment amount. Do you know?
